Please post client's bpcd log file.

If the log does not exisit, create bpcd folder under /usr/openv/netbackup/logs.

Run bptestbpcd again, then rename log file to bpcd.txt and post as attachment.

kindly find the attached bpcd logs.

oracle linux 5.7

check the name of client, master and media on hosts files.

when there is no jobs run run this following command in Master.

/veritas/netbackup/bin/bpclntcmd -clear_host_cache.

then try bptestbpcd again.

First of all, in your last attached log, the machine you're pinging (ad-dc.alquraishi.com [192.168.20.99]) is not the machine you're testing (appsdev.alquraishi.com, appears to be 192.168.20.92), so try to ping the machine you're testing.

Better than that, try a telnet to the vnetd port (`telnet appsdev.alquraishi.com 13724`) - I bet it doesn't work.  It looks like you're getting the old 10061 (WSAECONNREFUSED aka "Connection refused"), according to both of your logs:

17:44:50.694 [9872.9412] <2> logconnections: BPCD CONNECT FROM 192.168.20.94.502
49 TO 192.168.20.92.13724 fd = 632
17:44:51.724 [9872.9412] <8> async_connect: [vnet_connect.c:1653] getsockopt SO_
ERROR returned 10061 0x274d

Find out what's blocking this attempt.

I don't think this is a NetBackup issue.

thank you

its doing the same thing.

any other work around .to ensure the connection between master /client

etc hosts files are added.in ping they can see each other

Check if firewall is enabled and it blocks access to 13724 port.

I ask again:

Please attempt `telnet <hostname> 13724` and tell us if it connects or if the connection is refused.

Ping is nice but this is what we REALLY need to know.

If in fact the connection is refused, talk to your network administrators.

NetBackup can't work without the ability to use the network!
