I am trying to restore a directory that the backup took 38 hours. The restore was still running after 2 days (42 hrs)
The detailed status says begin reading , I look at the tape drive and the led is solid green. I do not see any evidence
that the restore is really working.
Does the current kilobytes written say anything or is it increasing ? It may not say any files written as it may be reading up to the required restore but if it is increasing it is working albeit slowly.
Restores can be slower than backups depending on the buffers.
There is an amount under Kilobytes but the completion stays at 0% and when I go to the tape drive the
led is solid green , which I believe is idle. I tried the same restore monday and it ran for 42 hrs with 0% completion and tape drive led was solid green . It am not getting warm and fuzzies that the restore is really
going.
