Can any one help me

First question

When I configure catalog backup using wizad, it ask to browse the drive to keep the configration data file. in a document say not this keep this file in a local drive. when I map a drive in diffrent PC as shared drive.

1) in my computer visible as network drive and local all drives.

2) Wizad only visible the local drives not the network drive.

what is the wrong?

Second Question

can we send this catalog configration data file alone with catalog backup offsite tape?

Use a UNC path

Just "send in an e-mail attachment (recommended)"

I suppose there's nothing to stop you backing that area up to tape also - but your difficulty would be in a DR situation: if needed, how would you do a DR recovery if your DR file was on a tape that you would have to identify by means of a DR recovery?

All we ever did was to an NFS mount to a filer (we had a Solaris master) & an e-mail attachment to myself & 2 other operatives.
