hello
i have netbackup 6 installed, planning for v7.0.1 upgrade soon.
in the time being we need to install netbackup vault for offsite duplication.
my question is:
what is the latest version of vault.
can i apply the latest version of vault with my current setup "netbackup 6"
incase we updated netbackup to 7.0.1, do we have to update vault "assuming that NB 6 not supporting the latest vault version.
please advice
thanks

Your vault extension must always match your NBU server patch level. So, if your NBU server version is 6.5.6, you must also install Vault patch 6.5.6.
As from 7.0, all agents and options are installed with the server software. No need for separate vault package installation anymore.

Extract from NBU Installation Guide:
UNIX package consolidation
Starting with NetBackup 7.0, most of the add-on products
and database agents are now installed with the NetBackup
server or the client package. Separate installation for these
products is no longer needed.
The following products are now included in the NetBackup
server package (if the platform supports the product):
■ BMR master server
■ NDMP
■ NetBackup Vault
Licensing is the same as before - you need to add the license key on the master server to unlock the funtionality.
Extract from Vault Admin Guide:
Note: The nbvault service only starts automatically if you have a combined license key for both NetBackup and Vault. If you have a separate Vault license key, you must add the Vault license key and then start the nbvault service manually.
