Hi all,
I've the same problem than several guys already mentionned here.
I'm unable to backup a PDC system state or shadow copy component (status 69 then 13)
Master 7.1.0.1 (W2K8 French)
Media Server 7.1.0.1 (W2K8 French)
Client (Domain Controler) 7.1.0.1 (W2K3 R2 French)
vssadmin list providers : Microsoft
vssadmin list writers : stables, no error
Master properties have been modified to add Client and set VSS snapshot open files.
I've tried with only Sytem State directive : idem
I've tried with only Shadow Copy Components directive: idem
I've tried with only ALL_LOCAL_DRIVES directive : idem
I've even tried with Enterprise Client settings in the policy (perform snapshot with option VSS and Auto) : in this case NBU doesn't validate the policy with : unable to use snapshot VSS method or auto method).
I've tried to activate VSS on the client for C:\ and D:\ disk (VSS was at first deactivated): idem
C:\ has 10 Gb free
D:\ has 23 Gb free
The 2 services ( Microsoft Software Shadow Copy and Volue Shadow Copy are set on Manual)
If someone has a miracle idea, I will be pleased to take it :)
Regards

Hi,
Hope this article helps.
A good page to bookmark is the status code lookup.
http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH58686&key=15143
Also - check for any VSS updates for your systems.
Search for "VSS updates". They are not distributed via Windows update.

Thank you very much.
Your answer has helped me to resolve the Shadow Copy Component backup issue.
However I don't understand why I can't set Perform Snapshot Backup (VSS) attribute : NetBackup doesn't want to validate the policy if I set this parameter although I get the Enterprise Client Licence.
Best regards
