Did you leave the eject screen open in the admin console?

If you just OK it it will empty the CAP again.

Right click your tape - select eject - follow it through and once it says remove the tapes just leave it on the screen and go and see if they are in the CAP

Only click OK once you get back after emptying the ports

Ravin - You really need to provide more info.

e.g.:

  • What error messages do you see
  • How do you export the media - command used
  • What type of robot  do you have (TLD,ACS,???)

I agree with Nicolai. You need to give us more info.

How long are you waiting to remove tapes from the cap? NBU has a built-in timeout - if tapes are not removed within the timeout, it will put tapes back in the slots.

Please share exact steps you are taking to eject tapes.

we carried out the following steps,

1. Ejected a media from GUI (from scratch) and we did not see any error message

2. Unable to see the media in CAP, waited for 2 mins.

3. its ACS Library

Again, please share exact steps from the moment that you select the media and right-click, Eject.

Take screenshots if possible and post as File attachments.

Please also check that Media Manager logs are enabled on the media server that you choose to perform eject: create debug folder under volmgr folder. Next, create daemon and reqlib folders under debug. Insert VERBOSE entry in vm.conf and restart NBU on this media server to enable logs.

After next eject attempt, copy logs to .txt files to reflect process name, e.g. reqlib.txt. Upload logs along with screenshots.

Thank you All. we tried Mark's instruction it works for few tapes. For few other tapes we tried moving it out from robest, that also worked fine.
