upgrade old client

I have a new server that test ok with old client that both are unix. Do I install new software on client? Do I need to save parts of old client before being new client?

What do you mean save parts of old client?

You can install a unix client from the master or mount the install cd.

the new install should cover the "parts"...;)

Is this what "parts" mean
parts = files correct.

If it just a "client" then only the binaries (parts) will be changed the conf files will not be changed.
