If you use the Device Config wizard, the drive type is determined by the Device Mappings file, external_types.txt.
What is the use of other two?

They are just files that contain definitions of robotic types (ext_rob.txt) and devices (robots and drives) (ext_types.txt)
Excatly what the meanings are of all the different lines are irrelevant, and undocumented - you have to have the files, you cannot edit them in any way.
When new types of hardware become available for example LTO6 drives, they are added to these files. These can be downloaded and allow NBU to be updated with new hardware types, without having to upgrade NBU directly.
If you actually looked in the files, it's fairly obvious what they do, they define hardware types.

Whivh part of the following line in both TNs do you NOT understand?
The external_robotics.txt and external_types.txt files are used by the NetBackup Enterprise Media Manager database to interact with tape drive, tape library, and virtual tape drive / library devices. They are also used by the Device Configuration Wizard to automatically configure new devices.
Readme.txt is exactly what it says: Read Me!
