Hello,
I see the Release Notes of VCS 5.0 saying that in Global Cluster, the VIP has to be registered in DNS.
Is it not enough to have them in /etc/hosts (obviously, having Solaris 10 configured for /etc/hosts only)?
Thanks

not necessarily actually. the purpose of having it in dns is to ensure the client can connect to the services after a failover across clusters, which is normally running in different area, with different subnet, and vip can not be failed over.
I just set up a global cluster without dns involved. As long as client side can be reconfigured to recognize the new IP that service is running on, that is fine.
