Slow performance when using DMP

Hi

Has anyone seen slow performance with VxVM 4.1 volumes on Soalris 10? Using dd from the the Solaris device I get 160 to 180Mb/Sec read performance. If I use the VxVM volume on that device with 8 paths to the CX3-80 array I get 20-30Mb across all 8 paths.

I've installed MP1 and MP2 and added set vxdmp:dmp_pathswitch_blks_shift=15 to the /etc/system file and rebooted. After the kernel parameter change performance did increase to about 70-80Mb/sec but this is nowhere near the speed I get to the internal disks.

I have other Solaris 10 systems connected to the same array using MPxio and PowerPath and their speed is faster than that to the internal disk.

The nice people at Sun found the problem........on the Veritas website. I'm still waiting for the Veritas supprt centre to ring me back.

Problem was that VxVM does not come with the ASL for the EMC Clariion arrays.
