Hi,

In my attachments / and /var are in /dev/vx/dsk/rootvol and /dev/vx/dsk/var ->ufs.

Normally when and ufs file system is created this is created in /dev/dsk/rootvol amd /dev/dsk/var.

Why here those ufs are in /dev/vs/dsk?

this is a result of the root disk encapsulation

The root disk is now encapsulated? This is why there is ufs?

Can you please run the commands below and copy and [paste the outputs:

1. uname -a

2. df -k

3. vxdg list

4. modinfo | grep -i vx

5. cat /etc/fatab | grep -i vx

hi,

here.

I know that the disk root is encapsulated if in vxdg exists rootdg?

By default, when the system OS disk is encapsulated, a dg called rootdg will be created.  However, user can create a disk group with any name he/she wishes to use including rootdg.

Your VxVM version is 3.5, Veritas stopped supporting this version very long time ago (10+ years ago).  the version of OS that VxVM 3.5 runs on is also no longer supported by Sun. (now Dell).

VxVM surports both UFS and VxFS.

vxvm  support zfs.right?

In the sense that vmdisk list sees the zfs disk.

We can have ufs on top of vxvm but not zfs on top of vxvm.Right?

VxVM 3.5 does not support nor can co-exit with ZFS, simply because it is far too old

for software compatibilityies please refer to the product release notes and/or SCL

i ask in general not only for this vxvm version.
