Convert BESR Backups to VMware VM

We have two virtual servers is all, both running on one physical server on VMware ESXi (free). We are using Symantec BESR 8.5 to backup these VMs to a NAS then copied to a USB drives which is taken off site nightly. It's setup to create fulls on 1st and 15th and incrementals in between.

Is there a way for me to convert my BESR backups back into a VMDK to put another ESXi (free) host. For instance, I have some old hardware that I could install ESXi, manually or script a convert my BESR backups back into a VMDK and place on my old hardware. That way if my one physical piece of hardware would die, it wouldn't take me long to start up the VMs on my older hardware to at least get me up and running.

Be aware that you cannot do this using the free edition of ESXi:
