Error E1AD3212

I'm having trouble installing besr 8 onto a server 2003 machine. There's nothing special about the computer, it just does number crunching with ActiveFactory and Excel.
Here's the error I get when trying to start the program:

It's logged in as domain admin when installing, so it doesn't make sense to me why it says I don't have sufficient priveleges.
I've tried running fixinstall.bat after reading some previous posts about the same error, but that hasn't helped. I've also tried uninstalling and reinstalling...

Any advice/help to resolve the issue will be appreciated.

I had the same error pop up on me today after upgrading from 7.0 to 8.0.  The way I corrected the problem (fixinstall.bat does not work by the way... don't waste your time)...

1. Uninstall BESR
2. Delete the Symantec key from HKLM\Software (be careful if you have other Symantec products installed... just get the ones for BESR).  You may want to export the key just incase.
3. Reinstall

That's it.

There is a bunch of options to help assist in working out this issue, but more often then not if the install was done through a RDP or TS session you'll get this error; uninstall locally, reboot, and install locally from a product CD or files copied locally.
