How to test restore of Domain Controllers and Exchange Server

What is the best way to test the restore of the backups created by BESR on servers that are integrated into Active Directory? I can convert the images to vmdk's or restore the machine without connecting it to the network segement, but are there instructions for confirming that during an actual restore that these servers would be restored into Active Directory without any problems? I am specificly wondering about Exchange 2007 and Domain Controllers...

thanks

I also want to know to.

Now build a AD with Exchange Server 2007 to testing the trail version 8.

Hope it can make my life easier ...

Do you have two HDD? If so, try using one HDD do the sample environment, and then using some HDD Clone tools to full clone the first HDD to the second HDD

And then unplug the first HDD, and do a sample restore try see what happened or get wrong on a sample server.

James Haymore is on the right track, create images of the member server in questio and the DC, restore to virutal guest OS's, and see if the member server is able to automatically join the the virtual domain or not.
