Offsite Copy Backup Exec system recovery SBS 8.5

We have just upgraded to this version and are keen to use the offsite copy feature. We ran backup and it worked like a charm. However we removed the external drive off site and reconnected it the following morning. The drive was detected , but no copy of missing recovery points process was started, which from the manual we understand is what should happen.

Having searched the forum it looks like the copy process is triggered after the next backup job comletes , NOT by reconnection as stated in the manual.

Can anyone confirm if this is true, or is there an undelying configuration we have missed.

Thanks

Do you have the option for 'Prompt me to start a copy when I attach an external Offsite Copy destination drive' ticked?

We didn't originally, but we edited the settings, thinking that may be the issue. However it seems to make no difference :(

Thanks

What build of 8.5 do you have - check in Help-About. Current latest build is 8.5.3. If you are running an earlier build, you will need to run LiveUpdate to update it and then reboot the machine.

Also, does your external drive always have the same drive letter when it's re-connected?

Unistalled and re-installed now works, don't know if this was because original installation of 8.5 was upgrade from 7.0

Thanks !
