Symantec System Recovery 2011: Hangs at 5%

I'm running into an issue with SSR 2011 backing up our SQL server. For some reason, it's starting to hang when doing a backup. It hangs at 5% at creating recovery point/copying volume data. If I attempt to cancel the job, nothing happens...I have to stop and restart the SSR service. I edited the backup job to backup a single volume but it still hangs. It was working before so not sure what has changed.

Try to stop the "symantec symsnap Vss provider" service when the job hangs at 5%. then it should continue to run.

Make sure the backup destination folder is on an NTFS file system. I believe there to be file size limitations on FAT.
