i am not able to insert the tap inside the tape drive as the red led always glows and i checked it even by restarting the server but the same problem is comming pls help?
Without knowing the make or model of your tape drive, I'm just guessing here. You may need to power down the tape drive as well as restarting the server in order to clear a mechanical jam. If that doesn't work, there may be debis insde the drive that only disassembly can clear out.
When was the last time you cleaned the drive with a cleaning cartridge? Is it possible that the wrong type of cleaning cartridge was used? An improper cleaning cartridge can damage a tape drive that it is not designed for.
