What do you have your resource limits set at? You can go to host properties -> master server and its at the bottom. How many snapshots are you allowing at once and how many per datastore?

There was no 'error' message persay, the emails just weren't being sent but the tapes were still ejecting though. In order to see the 'errors' I had to look at the /var/log/maillog and /root/dead.letter Feb 14 09:17:44 masterServer postfix/smtp[2782...

Solved it myself, had to edit the main.cf file in /etc/postfix and add the smtp_sasl_security_option = nonanonymous since it wasn't specified. Once I did that I edited /etc/postfix/generic to use the correct sender name.

Have you verified that you can log onto the servers that are failing? I occasionally have servers start erroring with 156, and it turns out the server is pingable and shows online but you can't log into it. After a reboot it fixes the problem.
