If you have only one type drive,then that's normal.for a autoloader,commonly do not have a bar code scanner in it. so the types must be read in the drive before backup exec can know which media it is and what was stored in it.
I am so sorry to hear that,I have no idea about your issue,I searched in the BE support site,no service pack and hotfix are available so far,so the only advice I can give you now was try to reinstall the remote agent.
you should modify the password of services account in the backup exec by the services manager (double click the icon in the down-right corner,left to your BE server name) and logon account management (select network,logon account in the main menu).
