Orchestrated DR for physical workloads with Veritas Resiliency Platform 3.4

Level 3

Disaster recovery (DR) evolved from protecting physical workloads to virtual and cloud, but there’s still a core set of physical workloads that never went away. These are workloads that are too complex and too expensive to re-architects but are still critical to business operations. Using point tools for IT resiliency across physical, virtual and cloud can lead to fragmented environments, lowering visibility and increasing Opex costs across the enterprise. More importantly, using different tools for DR can extend time the business is offline in a real-time DR situation.

Veritas Resiliency Platform offers businesses a unified platform for DR across physical, virtual and cloud environments. New in 3.4 is orchestrated DR for physical workloads across on-premises environments, and to cloud. Organizations get physical to virtual (P to V) failover or alternately, physical to cloud (P to C) failover which includes just-in-time recovery. P to V failover greatly reduces the need for extensive physical infrastructure on the DR site, lowering Capex costs. And Resiliency Platform’s P to C just-in-time recovery means that businesses only pay for cloud resources when DR is invoked.

Watch Tushar Bandopadhyay, Distinguished Architect at Veritas, discuss the Resiliency Platform architecture to help you achieve the benefits of orchestrated DR for physical workloads, concentrating on the P to C use case.
