We currently have Backup Exec 11d installed on one of our servers. This server is the destination of our replication from our file server so it actually backs up the files that is local to it. We get regular 0xe00084af errors usually about 2-3 times a week. At first, it was a permission issue. Attempting to go into the folder of the source server would generate some access denied errors and had to claim ownership of the folder so the domain admins group would have access. Backup Exec runs under our domain admin account. The error we got this morning was on a folder that had a total of 181 characters in them. Navigating through the child folders and some files are approaching a filename length of 220 characters. I didn't know if Backup Exec had a limit that would be under the Windows limit of 255. Or could there be another problem. I do know that the folder that gave an error was able to be accessed by the domain admin and that is the account BE is running under. Anyone have an answer?
