10d Intelligent Disaster Recover best practice

I am running Symantec 10d and am trying to make sure I understand IDR.

If I were to lose a remote computer, I would simply use the bootable CD I have and the latest .dr file copied to a floppy?

Also, what are some recomendations or practices you use to back up data?

All of my servers are configured with a C for the OS and D for the data. Right now my D drives get backed up everyday with the OS system state. Then once a week I do a complete backup of the C drive on a separate job. Would I be better off running backups everyday for the C drive alone that would include system state and the files (everything), then run another job later that night to backup the data on the D drive? This seems to make more sense than what I am doing now. Please comment.

Thanks!

Hello Mark,
The basic Recomendation for IDR are as follows:
- There should be a FULL backup of the system. The Full Backup includes the local drives AND the System state. This will inturn be followed by the incrementals / differentials if any.

- The IDR does not work on different Servers with different Hardware.
