Hi, Not really up to speed with our Mac OSx Xserve so having problems installing the agent. In fact I'm struggling to find the Symantec doco that relates to the 11d agent installation. Any help appreciated.

Hi,

You can find more information on this in the admin guide.

This might sound weird but I can not find the MAC Agent installation script that the admin guide refers to. I downloaded the 11d 32bit version and burned the CD contents to a CD-R When I place this CD into my XServe (10.4.8) and browse the CD, I do not see any thing resembling installrams. When I run the command sudo ./installrams , I get a message telling me it is an invalid command. Am I missing a step somewhere, do I need to download the agent separately? Any help in the right direction is appreciated.

Thanks

IIRC, the Mac Agent is packaged with the Unix/Linux and NT4 Agents.

Find the Download Trialware link at http://www.backupexec.com/ , jump through all the little hoops, then download the 190MB package "Backup Exec 11d for Windows Servers Linux/UNIX/Macintosh & NT4 Agents"

Thanks I found it shortly after I posted,
I am trying to run the install by doing ./installrams but when I put in the hostname of my Mac server, I get "cannot /usr/bin/rsh to hostname" Initial System check fail, enter to continue. Any ideas
it just stops after that.

Reboot the MAC and then run hostname in a terminal session, and input that in during the install
