9.1 SBS and Sony AIT-1 turbo "Invalid Physical Volume Lib Argument"

I have Windows 2003 SBS and a Sony AIT -1 Turbo tape drive.
When I install Veritas v 9.1 for SBS using Veritas drivers it all installs OK but when I try and backup or label a tape I get the error message:-
"0xa0008101 - Invalid Physical Volume Library Argument"
I have spoken to Sony and run a drive test which it passed!!
Please help as I have had no backups now for 2 weeks!!
