Before actually archiving data, I would like to be able to generate a report detailing files that will be deleted. Is this doable?

The suggested ready material has no reference to Archive Reports. It is simply an installation user's guide.

Hello John,
At the moment no report can be created before running a backup job about the selection list other than exporting the selection list or waiting for the backup job to complete to see the job log!

Do the following technotes help you?

How to output a job selection list and schedule information to a text file
http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/245048.htm
How to print the selection list of Backup Exec job definitions with VERITAS Backup Exec (tm) 8.5 for Windows NT and Windows 2000, and later

Regards,
Ashutosh
