Hello.

I have Backupexec 12.5 with all Patches running on W 2008 SBS 64-Bit. My Backup-to-disk folder is a share on an external usb drive connected to a different computer.
Sometimes the backup works, but most times not. I get the following errors (partly translated from german):

The share and the folder on the folder have granted rights to "everyone". I configured the B2D device for:

- 2 GB max size
- do not auto detect device settings
- use read buffer
- use write buffer

Thanks for help
Michael

Have you got an anti-virus (AV) product or something similar that is monitoring the location holding the B2D - if so I'd suggest excluding the area concerned from the AV scanning to see if AV is  locking the files for the B2D.

Hi.

Yes, Symantec Endpoint Protection SEPS running. Do you mean the server where BE is running or the pc where the device is attached (or both?).

Thanks,
Michael

Configuring the B2D as exclusion did the job.

Thanks,
