BE 10d for Windows - New Install/Server - SQL Problem

Hi,

I'm setting up a new server for a small business. Win2K3R2 & MS SQL Server 2000 SP4. Dual-dual core processors, 3gb ram. I installed BE 10d (current build) but after rebooting, a couple of the BE services wouldn't run. There was a db problem. The install created a db in SQL, but it's READ-ONLY! I tried to change it to Read/Write, but SQL won't let me and complains that the db is damaged. I reran the BE install (repair) but that didn't help. So, now I've uninstalled it.

Is there a problem with using SQL and should I instead let it install MSDE and use that? I thought that I'd take advantage of SQL since it's already present on the same server.

Thoughts? Ideas? Hints?

Thanks!

John

Hello,

It is recommended to install the BE in it's own msde instance.
