BE 10d - loading media

Hi,

I've just upgraded to an autoloader and from BE 9.1 to 10d. BE can see the tapes in the library but when I start a backup job, it always stays in the "loading media" state but never goes any further. The library does actually load the tape but it never backs up.

Has anyone seen this behaviour and can suggest any remedy?

Backup job can stay in 'Loading Media' state for prolonged period due to the following reasons.
1) If the tape is not present in the tape drive then the backup job will go into 'Loading Media' state and will remain there until proper media is inserted in the tape drive. In this case when the tape is inserted in the drive then only the backup job will start.

2) Backup jobs configured to use the Advanced Open File Option (AOFO) requires time when the backup job begins to build the static volume; which is later used to perform the verification. The larger the files sizes and the media that is being backed up the longer the initial "loading" time will be.

This "loading media" state is not related to the software 'not responding' error nor a hardware failure. After the static volume has been completed, the job will continue in a "running" state as normal.
