BE 10d not cancelling job automatically

This was working in BE 9 and in 10.0. I told BE to respond to a media insert alert with a cancel so that the job would be canceled because the user forgot to put the tape in. Now in 10d that functionality seems to be broken (well I cannot get it to work).

For the Media Insert Alert

I have set the Automatically clear alert after 15 minutes respond with cancel in the Alert tab | Configure alert categories.

I have tried it with Send notification to recipient both enabled and disabled

Nothing makes the job cancel.

Is this a problem in 10d or do I have to set something else somewhere?

OK I reviewed that article (which by the way I had already set properly) and it still does not cancel the job.

In BE 10D on the Alerts Tab for Media Insert I have it set to Automatically Clear after 1 minute Respond with Cancel

In BEUtility on the Edit Media Server Configuration the Media Insert Alert is also set to Cancel.

I have even restarted all the BE services and still the job does not cancel.

What else can I try?

Last night the job kicked off at 11:00 pm as scheduled.

Job started: Tuesday, February 14, 2006 at 11:00:03 PM

and then it was finally cancelled at

Job ended: Wednesday, February 15, 2006 at 1:11:02 AM


Now acording to the Alerts configurartion it was supposed to be cancelled in 1 minute on the Media Insert Alert.

Why did it take 2 hours and 11 minutes?

Hi Asma,

I will try to do a repair, but could you please explain why repairing the database will get the backup job to be cancelled in the time specified instead of 2 hours and 11 minutes?
