BE 11d console runs slowly and event log fills up with "Failure Audit" and event 560 msgs

Subject says it all, really.

If I try to use the Backup Exec 11d software it runs like an absolute dog.  In some cases running through the restore wizard gives me delays of up to 1.5 mins between pages of the wizard.  Looking at the Server 2003 R2 security event log shows countless events of type 'Failure Audit' that relate to Backup Exec.

Here's an example:

Object Open:

Object Server: SC Manager

Object Type: SERVICE OBJECT

Object Name: BackupExecAgentBrowser

Handle ID: -

Operation ID: {0,205992519}

Process ID: 676

Image File Name: C:\WINDOWS\system32\services.exe

Primary User Name: DL1$

Primary Domain: PENNINE

Primary Logon ID: (0x0,0x3E7)

Client User Name: timw

Client Domain: PENNINE

Client Logon ID: (0x0,0xA16932D)

Accesses: Query status of service

Privileges: -

Restricted Sid Count: 0

Access Mask: 0x4

The body of the event message varies but it's always event ID 560.

Anyone know what's going on?

Tim,

Are the System or Application logs reporting anything at the same time as these errors? Are these errors being reported on all jobs? What revision of 11.d are you currently running, and was it a new install or upgraded? If it was an upgrade, when did the errors begin?

Regards,
Greg
