Do you see the Medium Changer in the Windows Device Manager. BE will detect the device only if

its detected by the OS.

Is your operating system able to see the library? Check out in the device manager.

If your OS is not able to see the library then BE will not.

If your OS is able to see the library, have you tried configuring the library with BE by using device configuration assistant?

The OS is able to see the device.

BE can see the device, however it only sees the device not the slots within.

Is BE showing it as a library?

I think BE seeing it as a standalone drive, not as a robotic library.

As Amol said, check for medium changer in the device manager. If it is not there, then probably you have to look at configuring the library with windows.

BE is showing it as a Stand Alone Drive.

The drive does show in the device manager.

Along with the drive do you see "Medium Changer" in the device manager

Not just the tape drive, robotic arm will be detected as medium changer by the windows operating system if the library is properly configured.

See the image attached. (medium Changers)

Device manager is showing the HP LTO ultimate drive under the Tape Drives but the Medium Changer is not showing up in the device manager.

A Tape Backup Medium Changer may not detect properly in the Device Manager

Resolution: Install Scsiport drivers for the HBA rather then Storport.

Perform a powercycle of the server and the library in the following sequence.

1) Shutdown server and then library.

2) check all the connections

3) Switch on library let it get initialized.

4) Power on the server.
