BE2014 new licenses and removing expired BE2013

Hi,

Had 2 jobs on MMS with LTO6 and 2 jobs on CAS with LTO5 and over the weekend 1 job got queued , but no message. So i start to investigate the cause and this is my explanation:

after successfully migration to be2014 and recieving a lot of messages concerning expired maintenance-contracts, i removed the expired ones and now 1 drive gets deactivated cause of not enough licenses. Checking the licenses on CAS & MMS i should have enough for 2 tape-lib with 2 drives each (see attached cas-storage.jpg and mms-storag.jpg. Looking at the print-screen of licenses, cas.jpg & mms.jpg, it shows me 4 extenison -licenses. After rebooting CAS, MMS & 1 Tapelib i finally recieved the message, that the attached numbers of drive exceed the number o flicenses. The support for the first drive is included and then you must purchase additional lib expansion lic, so i should be good with 2 already.

Alreday done, first removed all expired and went with 2 libexpansions ==> no success, then tried 4 libexpansions again no success.

Hi. Since you have 4 Library Expansion Licenses, can you please try 2 on each servers and check if that works good?

Can you post a screenshot of the installed licenses ? Secondly, when you removed and re-added the LEO licenses, did you proceed ahead with the license install wizard which involves deselecting/selecting the LEO option ?

Screenshot of licenses is provided in the first thread cas.jpg & mms.jpg. Yes i folloewd thru the whole process including installation-source. I went back to trial first and after restart of the server put back the necessary licenses, but still i don't have all 4 drives available for 1 cas and 1 mms. So now i'm back to locally managed backup server and cas only see his tapedrives and os do the mms. Before on BE2010R3, each of them saw the drives/tapelib from the other server as well.

Actually, i was looking for a screenshot displaying the added serial numbers on both servers and not the above posted one.

Secondly, are there any errors in the adamm.log of both the servers ?

Solved temporarily to get a succesful backup last night: i set the mms to locally managed during adding the licenses. Disadvantage now is that the MMS only see his IBM LTO6 and the CAS see both and can use both IBM & OVERLAND (attched via FC). BE-Release before migration was 2010R3 and both tape-libraries where seen and usable by both of them. Was the SAN Shared Storage Option responsible for this behaviour, this option was dropped in BE2014 as you can read in the following TechNote:

Found an HW-Error on MMS and solved that. Tried again with CAS and 2 jobs, MBS and 2 jobs. The MBS reported this:

The error Mediumchanger3 from yesterday seesm resolved, but still not able to use all 4 drives at the same time, altough enough library expansions licenses are installed (4).
