Does anyone know how much backward compatibility there is with previous version backups and archives after upgrading to BE 2010?

Er, just be very careful with this one. Although it reads previous versions, it is going to show the job, or sections of it as having exceptions:

The target computer is running a previous version of the Backup Exec Remote Agent. You must upgrade the Remote Agent.

As such, I would suggest upgrading your agents as soon as you can. using a push install, it is relatively painless to do...

Laters!

BE2010 should be able to read all previous versions of BackupExec.  The BKF format has not changed over the years or versions.

Whether your old backups are in your catalog, well that is a different story ;)
