Back Exec ADBO performance vs traditional

How much faster is an ADBO backup or is it not going to be any faster than a traditional?  Do you recommend still running ADBO backups on off-peak hours or will these affect the production systems?

ADBO mainly the "Off-Host," backup is only going to be as fast as the slowest device...

That said, on an Equallogic SAN it is pretty darn fast, about 30-40% faster.  On a Fiber SAN a tad faster still yet.

The real benefit is not really the speed boost which is nice.  It's the fact that you just did a backup of Exchange or SQL without using any resources of the client machine.  All backup duties were between a snapshot of the SAN and the BE server itself.
