How do I configure a NAS device for backup so i stop getting an error indicating that there is no agent installed? I tried to configure the Desktop Laptop option as suggested, but The wizzard insists on you configuring the folders on the NAS as drive "C". There is no drive "C". In my case it is mapped to a network Drive "Z".

Hello Bill,
Nas device can be backed up as a share
All you need to do is create a share and add it under the user defined selections in Backup exec selection List
For e.g you will add the Path of the share under user defined selections
\\192.168.1.1\sharename
Now there's a possibility that it might give you an access denied error while adding that under user defined selections in your selection list.
So you will have to change the remote agent port number on the Backup exec server.
Please see the KB article below
Please don't forget to mark this as a solution...
Thanks!

Hi Bill!
In case if you get the access denied error while accessing NAS device Please check the KB article
Also here is the Kb article which describes how to Backup Nas devices using the NDMP option (only required if you are backing up directly to a Tape device attached to a Nas box)
Please Mark this as a solution if this helps
Thanks!

If you forget something, edit your earlier post and add it in. You should avoid multiple posts.
