BackUp Exec VMware Queries

1) As you're aware, BackUp of VM's can be configured using the following :-

- VCB (Staging Required)

- VStorage API (No Staging Required)

Queries :

1) So on which version of BackUp Exec and VMware is VStorage supported

2) I would also like to know the BackUp Exec and VMware versions supported for VCB

1 BE version 2010 & 2010 r2 support Vstorage with ESX 3.5 and vSphere 4.0 for same I have attached a PDF for you

2 BE 12.0 & 12.5 support backup using VCB for same ESX for same I have attached PDF for 12.5 S/w compatability list

Hi Guys,

- So what I understand is, if you have BackUp Exec 2010 or later then only you can configure VMware backups with VStorage. (ESX 3.5 and ESX 4.0)

- Suppose you have a version 12.5 of BackUp Exec and you have ESX 3.5 or ESX 4.0, VStorage Backups are not supported. Then you'll have to go with VCB

Appreicate your response on same & That is right with 2010 & above vstroage backup are supported with Vmware before that it used to use VCB
