Backup Data on SNAP Server

I can't get our Veritas (9.1, running on Microsoft Small Business Server 2003) to backup data on our SNAP (a NAS device) Server.

It fails every time on "access denied to remote agent". But there is no remote agent running on the snap, it's a stand-alone file server with it's own OS, so i can't install the remote agent on it..??

I select the folders to backup using the graphical interface, which asks for a username and pass to access the snap, i give it a standard administrator user with no password which works fine to browse the remote folders (if very sloooww)

Any help would be greatly appreciated..
