Hi there
Firstly, many thanks for anybody who tries to help me its much appreciated!
I'm having a problem restoring individual mailboxes or message items to our exchange server from tape. We are using GRT to backup and recover exchange but unfortunately the recovering part isn't working very well - here is the job log!

Interestingly if I use the same backup job but backup to disk I can recover mail and mailboxes with no problems so I don't think the problem is with our exchange server?
For the staging area i'm using an ISCSI partition to our NAS that is twice the size of the total backup size and have allowed the service account full access to it.
Please help me i'm pulling my hair out over this! all suggesstions are welcome!

Hi apr
Thanks for your response but I managed to work out what the problem was. Basically McAfee was trying to scan the files when Backup Exec wanted them and being over 100GB bexec would time out and respond with the 'unable to open item' message.
Adding an exclusion for my staging area allows me to restore without problems
Thanks
Robbie

I would say the problem is on the stagibng path.
Please run the backup to disk tool and see if the Passes the test to allow GRT based data can be staged on it.
