Hello everyone ! I have been experiencing a few failed backup jobs on my server and I really need your help on understanding why. I have not made any changes to any settings since we've last setup my Backup Exec and I am very thankful to all of you who made my backup jobs succesful from January 23 2013. However recently this issue has been occuring and causing my jobs to fail. Any advice or questions, comments would be answered and I hope to assist you with helping me.

I have made the proper changes to the registry and have enabled the snapshot.

Thank you both for your resposnes and thank you craig & lmosla once again for your continued support !

Can someone explain to me exactly what is this Snapshot purpose?

The snapshot is basically just a consistent "copy" of the data at the time of a snapshot.

Thanks!

Thank you - I will run the back up tonight and let you know what the result is.

Just wanted to come back and let you know that CRAIGV absolutely resolved the issue - thank you for the link to the document. You saved the day and my backup last night was 100% succesful.

I wonder what happened that changed this? Can someone explain to me possibly why it changed from working to this error? Is it something Windows Server does on it's own?

Either way I am very thankful as always to your expertise! :)

...could be a patch (in BE or Windows/application) that breaks things, or someone who messes around on the system for instance. An AV update could be another explanation.

Thanks!
