Backup Exec 12 using disk to disk backup with HP D2D 2504i licensing request

Hello,
i'm connecting one disk to disk backup HP D2D 2504i (iscsi) sized 3T hard disks  with windows server w2k3 backup exec version 12. Do you is necessary some  license if i would like to work correctly backup exec and  D2D library? The deduplication is done by D2D library.

Hello,

There is no need for addational License...If the TAPE Library is connected to the BE server and has 1 TAPE Drive connected..

You can run a duplicate backup job off the original job on the TAPEs...

If you configure the D2D as a VTL, then there are extra licenses that are needed.

But as a B2D, none are needed as Dev T mentioned.
