Backup Exec API

I am running 12.5 on a Windows Server and I am looking to accomplish the following automation tasks:

1) Add a restore/backup job to BE programmatically and Execute it

2) Query BE to see what media numbers are included in a job

Is this possible through an API?

1)  Sorry, but the way that it is written, the media to be restored from must exist in the catalog at the time that the backup job is created.  We (the users) have been asking since v8.0 that I am aware of for the ability to say "restore file abc.xyz from the latest volume in the media set Daily Incr"  for example.  Still hasn't happened

2)  This should be in one of the canned reports.  Don't remember which one off the top of my head, sorry

You could also pkay around with the Command Line Interface.  There is a user guide in the v12 Documentation or at ftp://exftpp.symantec.com/pub/support/products/Backup_Exec_for_WindowsNT/297835.pdf
