Backup Exec Job Engine Service Terminates

nick_wiechers
Not applicable
I'm running Backup exec 10 on Windows 2003. Whilst running a backup job for several servers, the backup Exec Job engine service may terminate. It doesn't do this every time.

The error in the event log is below. Has anyone seen this before and do they know how to fix it?

Hello,

1. Verify that the remote agent is of the same version as the backup exec installation and that you have upgraded it after any upgrades done to the backup exec server.

2. Check if the device is ready and if there are any media alerts in the alerts tab.

3. Doxnload the MDAC component checker from:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=8f0a8df6-4a21-4b43-bf53-14332ef092c9&displaylang=en&Hash=6K8CJB
and tell if you had any mismatched dll's if yes what versions are shown as expected and actual.

NOTE : If we do not receive your reply within two business days, this post would be marked assumed answeredand would be moved toanswered questions pool.
