I have problem with at least one server I am backing up. All files weren't restored when I tried to restore folders. Backups, from where I was trying to restore, were succesfull. But when I select one specific file that is missing, the job ends succesfully with warnings:
"Server\MSSQL10_50.MSSQLSERVER\MSSQL\DATA\MSDBData.mdf is in the backup selection list but was not found"
So the job ends succesfully even it is not backing up all the data!

This is a SQL database file and can't be backed up or restored as a flat file unless it was taken offline and backed up. You need to use the SQL agent to perform a online backup of this file.

Thank you for your reply. I was able to backup some mdf-files, but those databases were offline. That gave me wrong impression that I would be able to backup and restore flat files. My bad.
I would suggest though that BE would throw some kind of error/warning in this scenario.

Not sure what version of Backup exec are you using. See the documents below, it does show a warning/exception in the job log
