Hi,
I have a backup job that backs up data from our NAS devices to tape.
On one NAS device, throughput to tape is 1900MB/minute (1.9GB/min)
on the other NAS (newly formatted and set up) throughput is 45MB/min
The servers are both running Windows 2003 and have the same backup client installed.
I tested the data transfer from each machine to the backup server (transferring two 2GB files) and it took the same amount of time to transfer these files.
I also tested the hard drive performance and the NAS with the slower throughput had a much higher hard drive performance (6 drive array on Dell PERC/5i)
So network data speed is the same, hard drive performance is better, it's a new install, yet backup performance is a LOT slower on the other NAS device.
Any suggestions?
I have uninstalled the backup client and reinstalled it to no avail.
Thanks in advance!
