Backup exec 11d

Installed symantec 11d on our server main1. We now recieve a backup failure on main1 that reads as follows.
V-79-57344-3844 - The media server was unable to connect to the Remote Agent on machine MAIN1.
The media server will use the local agent to try to complete the operation.
Remote Agent not detected on \\MAIN1.

main1 is the machine veritas is installed on and Main1 is local not a remote machine.

check if the backup exec remote agent service was started, close the firewall to test if the firewall blocked the connection.
