I'm trying to do a full backup of Windows server (file server, Oracle, MS SQL). I include all of the availale components (C:\ drive, Oracle and MS SQL instances, System State and so on).
The folder "c:\app\oracle\product\11.2.0\BIN" containing file "oracle.exe" (see the screenshot below) is also included in the backup selections:
The job completed successfully. When I try to restore the "BIN" folder, I cannot find "oracle.exe" file:
I try to use search option, but cannot find this file in my backup data:
When I try to manually browse the backup set, I also cannot find this file:
The job completed without any errors or warnings. The VSS is enabled.
I have no idea why this particular file is not in the backup set. Any ideas?

...it might be excluded with BE's Active File Exclusion...check the TN below:

If this is the case, then the only way around this is to deactivate it:

Thank you. I'll check it tomorrow and report back ASAP.

If you backup the System State of the server and then redirect the retore of the same system state to a temporary folder on a drive on the media server. If you then search inside the restored folder structure, you will probably find it is protected as part of the System State.
Most file system items that are protected by a System State backup will be silently excluded from a file system backup of the volume they are located on.

The same is possibly happening with .exe's in BE as with NetBackup -
Most program binaries are filtered into Shadow Copy Components.
This is determined by the OS, not the backup product.
See this NBU post about the same issue:

Just for info BE treats System State and Shadow Copy Components as two separate entities, and whilst I could be wrong, typically .EXE files related to application services are part of the System State.
