Kindly can some one help me in this..

I am not able to backup VM's through Virtual center but when I chosse ESX machines directly I am successfull in it.

The user I am using has all the required permission but may be I am missing some thing, if some one can explain in detail what are the permissions requirements for backing up virtual machines through Vcenter. The error I recieve is.

A communication failure has occured with a virtual machine resource..

After this all my Backup exec services gets stopped and I have to restart them all..

Reason 1:

This issue occurs if the previous backup attempted by Backup Exec fails to delete the snapshot after completion of backup.
The reason for Backup Exec not deleting the snapshot depends on several factors like backup failed due to user cancellation or network interruption

workaround:

Manually delete the snapshot connecting to Virtual Center or ESX server using VI client.
- Retry the backup again

Reason 2:

When Backing up Virtual Machines with an asterisk in the guest name in vCenter.  This wil also crash the beremote.exe process on the media server.

Solution:

Please remove the asterisk from the Guest Virtual Machine name is vCenter.
