Backup taking too long.

What is the setting to needed to have a fast backup?
Am using Veritas 9.0 rev 4367
OS win2003 with MS SQL 2000

Backing up to a NAS
Its taking 36hrs to backup and verify!

Have you tried regular NTBACKUP to the NAS device. There is nothing much to change except to optimize the NIC and RAID drivers on your NAS device. Im assuming the NAS is seperate from the media server. What happens if you run a couple backup to the local drives on the media server. Do you see a lag in the network on what you are backing up?
