Backup to Disk setup questions

Is there a best practices for setting up a media set and backup to disk device for BE 12? I have been having trouble getting overwrite settings to work properly and think I just have something set wrong.

I rotate several USB drives (one per day) for my backups. They show up as the same drive letter each time. My problem is that I can't get it to overwrite backup files older than X day/hours/whatever. I know it's a setting problem that I'm not understanding.

Are you using the default "MEDIA SET 1" or have you created your own media set?

IIRC, yo cannot change the properties of  the default, so create a new one, with Overwrite Protection (OPP) so that when the disk is due to be reused, the data has passed the OPP

If you plan to use the same disk each day of the week, set OPP to 6 days, every other week - 13 days etc
