BackupExec 12.5 overwrite protection problem

Hi All

My BackupExec used to work fine, until an alert message came out that the server is not able to connect to BE agents on other servers. I needed to restart the server to resolve that problem, and I did. Things came back normal for some time.

Then, a new issue had started:

I noticed that the daily tape sticking out of the drive and the scheduled backup stuck on "loading media."  When I view the alert this is what it tells me:

Media is overwrite protected.

The media in drive 'HP 1' is currently allocated and is not available for overwrite operations.

Media Set: SAFO1
Overwrite Protection Until: 12/31/1899 7:00:00 PM.
Appendable until: Infinite - Allow Append

I did check that the write tab on the actual tabe is not closed and that the media set tab says :

Overwrite protection until: Overwritable
Appendable until: not appendable (Media full)

Available capacity: 0 bytes

I tried many attempts to resolve this issue but no luck yet.

Any comment is highly appreciated.

Sounds like the tape filled up and BackupExec was waiting for an Overwriteable tape to continue
